Institute names 33 affiliates for 2021-22

Thirty-three Institute Affiliates have been selected for 2021-22 academic year. The Affiliate Program identifies and recognizes faculty, administrators, and staff (Affiliates) dedicated to enhancing learning outcomes and experiences of our students through contributions to Drake Institute teaching and learning and research programs.

The Affiliate Program

  • Creates a visible network of dedicated individuals who contribute to the teaching and learning mission of the university.
  • Formally connects individuals and units, colleges, and departments involved in professional learning around teaching and learning to Drake Institute resources.
  • Develops and promotes a broad teaching and learning community to support multidisciplinary teaching and research relationships.

Senior Affiliates facilitate or lead institute or enterprise level programs and initiatives with broad scope, strategic impact, and policy or research implications. Individuals with an established body of work in pedagogical studies, SoTL, or DBER may apply for or be awarded status as a Senior Affiliate. Drake affiliates with a two-y ear or more on-going engagement may also apply for senior affiliate status.

In late spring, individuals interested in becoming affiliates submitted a one-page letter of interest indicating how they have and propose to support the work of the Institute to elevate teaching and learning and an abbreviated CV. The applications were reviewed by a committee comprising institute leadership and faculty fellows.
