Ohio State’s University Libraries Present at POD Network Conference

Katie Blocksidge (library director, Ohio State University at Newark), Amanda Folk (associate professor & head of teaching & learning, University Libraries), Jane Hammons (assistant professor & teaching & learning engagement librarian, University Libraries), and Hanna Primeau (instructional designer, University Libraries) recently facilitated two presentations at the POD Network Conference in Seattle.

Their first session modeled equity-focused strategies to redesign research assignments and guided participants through activities developers can use to help instructors identify what students need to know to be successful on those assignments, as well as how to use the Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT) framework to assess and redesign assignments to support more equitable outcomes.  Their second session focused on decoding information literacy and helped instructors identify ways to intentionally and transparently develop their students’ information literacy.

Both sessions relate to the Meaningful Inquiry Teaching Endorsement offered through the Drake Institute in partnership with University Libraries.
