Community of Practice for GTAs of color forming for spring 2021

The Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning announces a new Community of Practice for graduate teaching associates of color that will meet biweekly throughout the spring semester.

Participants will strengthen inclusive practices in their teaching and connect as members of minoritized identities in the academy. Participants will engage research-based diversity, equity, inclusion and justice (DEIJ) pedagogical strategies while considering how the politics of inclusion and justice play a role in their graduate careers.

The community will meet via Zoom biweekly for one hour on dates to be determined. Facilitators and participants will share resources, activities, readings and pedagogical strategies to engage conversation among the community. Participation contributes to the completion of an inclusive teaching endorsement through the Drake Institute.

Facilitators:

Anne Van, Graduate Instructional Consultant

Deja Beamon, Graduate Instructional Consultant

Shadia Siliman, Instructional Consultant
