Ohio State faculty and instructors interested in learning how to design a global and intercultural learning experience with international partners are encouraged to apply to participate in the 2023 Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)/Virtual Exchange Learning Community, which will take place throughout autumn semester.
The Office of International Affairs in collaboration with the Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning will facilitate a learning community (LC) that brings together instructors from Ohio State, UNIMINUTO (Colombia), and UNESP (Brazil) in an effort to foster Collaborative Online International Learning/Virtual Exchange (COIL/VE). The aim is to support LC participants in designing new global and intercultural student learning experiences in virtual modalities. These new programs, which may be course-based or project-based, should connect Ohio State students with their peers at home and around the world through collaborative learning and meaningful intercultural interactions in virtual spaces.
Participants will learn how to design an interculturally mediated collaborative project with international partners. They will learn how to create appropriate intercultural learning outcomes, find resources for online learning and administer valid and reliable assessment measures. Additionally, each participant will receive $2,000 to be used for course development, materials and professional development.
Faculty and instructors from all colleges and campuses are welcome to apply by July 20th, 2023. For more information and to start the application process click here.
