Are you a GTA who is curious about the value and reliability of student feedback? If so, you should plan to attend the Drake Institute of Teaching and Learning GTA Toolkit session "Collecting Student Feedback" on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 1 to 2:30 pm.
In this Zoom session, we will explore strategies for obtaining and interpreting student feedback, including the SEI and beyond. Participants will analyze and contextualize feedback and SEI scores and discuss strategies to solicit and leverage student feedback to improve instruction and enhance the student experience.

Are you looking for an opportunity to update your writing assignments,but finding it difficult to negotiate time and various responsibilities throughout the semester? For busy instructors who have trouble finding the time to do it all, the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program will offer its "Teaching Through Writing" seminar this spring as a four-week, three-hour per week commitment beginning on Monday, Feb. 14.

Institute for Teaching and Learning Director and Professor of English Kay Halasek and Professor of Music and Associate Director of Bands Scott A. Jones suggested the results may be transformational learning during a joint Arts and Humanities Inaugural Lecture Series Thursday, Dec. 2
Halasek considered “Metaphors We Teach By: Reflections on Pedagogy in the Age of Big Data,” while Jones shared his implementation of an alternative model for ensemble music making via “Trading Efficiency for Outcomes: Large Ensemble Music Making without a Conductor.”
“Calling In: Turning Discomfort into Generative Moments”, an online workshop focused on strategies to help promote inclusivity in the classroom, will take place this Thursday, Jan. 6 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Led by Drake Institute instructional consultant Shed Siliman, this session will focus on ways that instructors can turn difficult moments into teachable and productive conversations in both in-person and remote settings.
