On November 10, educators around the world will participate in Fix Your Content Day 2026, a 24-hour event hosted by Blackboard Ally that encourages institutions to improve the accessibility of course content.

Using Ally in CarmenCanvas, faculty and staff can identify opportunities to improve the accessibility of course materials and contribute to Ohio State's standing on the event's live global leaderboard. Whether you make one improvement or fifty, every update helps create a more supportive learning experience for our students.

How to participate

  • Set aside time on November 10 to review accessibility opportunities in your courses.
  • Use Ally to identify content with red or orange accessibility indicators.
  • Focus on high-impact improvements, such as adding alternative text to images, improving document structure in Word files, or replacing inaccessible PDFs.
  • Celebrate progress. Every improvement helps remove barriers and improve the student experience.

Small changes, big impact

Small changes can have a big impact. Fix Your Content Day is a fun opportunity to improve your course content, learn more about accessibility, and join educators worldwide in creating more student-friendly learning environments.

More information will be available soon on the Digital Accessibility Services website. You can also visit the Ally instructional guides in the Teaching and Learning Resource Center to learn more about using Ally in Carmen.

Together, we can make our digital learning environment more accessible for all learners.
