Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

STEM Accessibility Community of Practice to Begin in January

As instructors in STEM fields work toward building more accessible courses this Spring, the Drake Institute will facilitate a Community of Practice (CoP) for those seeking peer-to-peer support, guided learning and help testing new and existing accessibility solutions. The primary goal of the CoP is to provide a collaborative space for instructors to connect with colleagues who understand both the value and unique challenges of STEM accessibility.

The STEM Accessibility CoP will meet via Zoom from 1:30-3 p.m. on the following dates:

  • January 15
  • January 22
  • February 5
  • February 19
  • March 5
  • March 26
  • April 2
  • April 9

During the first meeting, CoP facilitators will help participants determine the specific goals and outcomes for the CoP and produce a tentative plan for the remaining sessions.

Join the CoP

All who teach in STEM fields are eligible to join the CoP, but participation will be limited to 15 instructors. If you are eager to join, please fill out the interest form before January 2, 2026.

Questions can be directed to Amy Lea Clemons, Instructional Consultant, at clemons.32@osu.edu
