Workshop Schedule
Day 1
- Date: Thursday, May 8, 2025
- Time: 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Location: 280 Pomerene Hall
On Day 1 of the Immersive Active Learning Workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of active learning and experience three distinct active learning strategies modeled by Drake Institute Instructional Consultants: Four Corner Debate, Case Studies, and Peer Feedback/Review. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on how they might use these strategies in their own classrooms and discuss ideas with fellow attendees.
Day 2
- Date: Friday, May 9, 2025
- Time: 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Location: McPherson Laboratory
Day 2 activities will build on the learning from the previous day. Participants will gain hands-on practice facilitating one of the active learning strategies from Day 1 and receive feedback on their facilitation. All attendees will be provided with templates to guide implementation of the active learning strategies covered over the two days.
