Khushi received her PhD from Clemson University’s Department of Engineering and Science Education. She had the opportunity to apply some of her findings from her dissertation on conceptualization of topics in General Chemistry. She has taught and modified undergraduate courses in chemistry, conducted STEM related education research, and has supported projects that address mathematics and chemistry cognition, graduate student identity, and curriculum redesign to support inclusion and student persistence in STEM. She has also helped colleagues transition to remote (online) and hybrid teaching environments.

Khushi’s research interests consist of chemistry conceptualization, course structures and student work patterns (conation) and how it plays a role in student performance, and STEM identity.
