Specialized Professional Learning can focus on development, advancement, or leadership around an evidence-based teaching and learning topic or initiative.
Specialized Professional Learning typically provides the opportunity for participants to self-identify areas for growth in an evidence-based teaching and learning topic or initiative of interest and often offers customized learning opportunities in a collaborative environment.
The Drake Institute and other units across the university provide many opportunities for Specialized Professional Learning. These take many forms, such as learning communities, communities of practice, and mentoring programs.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Participants will be able to summarize and interpret evidence-based professional teaching and learning topics within the context of their work and personal learning objectives.
- Participants will be able to synthesize evidence-based teaching and learning concepts from the teaching endorsement programming to determine specific strategies to integrate to improve or advance their teaching or work.
