Participation Requirements
Eligibility:
The endorsement welcomes up to 25 participants per calendar year. Any student-facing staff person or GA may apply for consideration. Faculty are welcome to apply for consideration for remaining spaces after academic advisors and other student-facing staff are considered and are encouraged to apply for the Inclusive Teaching endorsement.
Getting Started:
All interested parties may apply at http://go.osu.edu/crssendorsement. The application will be available starting August 1st and is due August 30th; participants will be notified of their acceptance in the first week of September. If spots within the cohort are unfilled, the application will remain available until all spots have been claimed. Once all spots have been claimed, the application will close until August of the following year.
Criteria:
Complete three modules in Carmen within 3 semesters of acceptance to the program.
Each module includes core experiences and elective experiences, as well as a reflection. The amount of time required to meet each core experience or elective experience will vary based on the module. The listed time required is a minimum; if no single experience fulfills the minimum requirement, then you will need to choose additional trainings to reach the minimum. Examples of Ohio State sponsored experiences are provided in each module, but participants are provided a list of questions to consider when evaluating other experiences from outside of the university that may be appropriate for inclusion in their completion of the endorsement.
Participants will submit proof of attendance for their core and elective experiences via Carmen. They will also submit a reflection at the end of each module. After submitting the final reflection, participants will review what they have learned or how their skills have developed through these experiences. Finally, they will submit professional development goals for next year.
Verification
The final teaching endorsement application will require you to upload your post-assessment confirmation email.
