In Spring 2026 Ohio State became a part of a national initiative called the Student Experience Project. This project asks instructors to incorporate evidence-based teaching practices that support belonging and a culture of growth into their classrooms through syllabus language, activities and practices that encourage a welcoming classroom environment, and through feedback given on assignments throughout the semester. This session will highlight instructors and faculty who participated in the communities of practice this spring. They will share what they learned and any changes they made after working through the Student Experience Project modules and attending the community of practice meetings.
After this workshop participants will be able to:
- identify evidence-based teaching practices that support belonging and a culture of growth in the classroom
- reflect on lessons learned from community of practice participants to determine if they are interested in participating in the Student Experience Project in the future
