Introduction to Team-Based Learning Classrooms

Description

This session introduces participants to the features of one of Ohio State’s team-based learning classrooms and highlights how the space can support active, collaborative learning. Participants will experience demonstrations of key classroom features, consider teaching strategies well suited to these environments, and learn about support services available to help them maximize their use of the space.

This workshop is collaboratively offered by the Learning and Collaborative Environments team in the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation and the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Explain the features of a team-based learning environment.
  • Identify a variety of evidence-based active learning strategies that are well-suited to a team-based classroom.
  • Plan a team-focused activity that will utilize the technology and space of the featured team-based classroom.
