Experience and practice active learning strategies with other Ohio State instructors across disciplines during this immersive workshop. Over two days, you’ll hear about some common strategies, see what it’s like to be a student in an active learning environment and try out some of these techniques with other participants. Get a sense of what works for you, ask questions, and draft lesson plans with the Drake Institute Staff. Participants will leave with three templates for specific active learning strategies.
After this workshop, participants will be able to:
- define the concept of active learning as it is described in teaching and learning literature
- describe the details and best practices of 4-5 active learning strategies after experiencing them with a group of other faculty
- discuss how these 4-5 active learning strategies can enhance their classroom instruction and learning
- expand knowledge of active learning strategies
