Description

Facilitating an effective and lively discussion in the classroom involves thoughtful learning outcomes and careful planning.  Skillful facilitators know how to inspire their students and help them learn from one another during a discussion. This in-person workshop will introduce participants to the Group Discussion Model and the power of asking good questions and provide an opportunity for them to practice and hone these methods.  Come and join the conversation!

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • describe the characteristics of an effective discussion
  • identify the components of the Group Discussion Model
  • demonstrate how using good questions can encourage engagement and learning
  • apply the Group Discussion Model and the practice of using good questions by developing a discussion for their own classroom
