This interactive workshop will equip all who teach with the practical skills to transform their courses by integrating experiential learning that moves students beyond passive knowledge absorption to enhancing real-world problem-solving skills. Participants will actively analyze existing course structures, explore experiential learning strategies like simulations, service-learning, and internships and then plan for experiential activities and assessment strategies they can implement in their own courses.
Following this workshop, participants will be able to:
- describe the benefits of experiential learning
- design at least one high-impact experiential learning activity
- identify authentic assessment strategies that measure student learning and skills development within an experiential context
