Clinical reasoning assessment (CRA) is a fundamental competency of clinician educators. CRA is complex and many new CEs are unfamiliar with the fundamental concepts and methods. This interactive workshop leverages active learning methods to introduce participants to strategies such as including case-based discussion, Objective Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE), and multiple choice questions to assess clinical reasoning.
After this workshop participants will be able to:
- define a variety of methods used for clinical reasoning assessment (CRA)
- describe the efficacy of using various methods to assess clinical reasoning at different milestones of learner development
- develop an assessment plan
