Sam Mitchell (she/her) is a graduate consultant at the Drake Institute and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology here at Ohio State. Her research is primarily focused on inequality in higher education, first-generation college students, credentialism, and alternate assessment. She has taught Research Methods, Social Inequality, and Gender and the Body at Ohio State and Ohio Wesleyan University. She recently published work on multiracial college student success and is currently working on a project relating to the use of alternate assessment (ungrading) in sociology courses.
In her free time, Sam enjoys making art, collecting vinyl records and CDs, and watching YouTube video essays.
