Julie Kennel

Julie Kennel, PhD, RDN, LD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Practice in Human Nutrition and Co-Director of the Masters in Dietetics and Nutrition (MDN). The MDN program focuses on skills and evidence-based practices that students need to become registered dietitian nutritionists. As co-director, Julie oversees curriculum, assessment, and implementation of didactic courses and supervised practice (clinicals). Julie is an OSU alum and graduate of Indiana University with a specialization in health behavior. She has over 15 years of experience applying medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling in wellness and prevention settings.  Her instructional focus is the development of innovative experiential education. She has created 14 new graduate courses and 3 new undergraduate courses. She has participated in The Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning Active Learning Classroom community and received the Course Design: Institute Pathway endorsement.
