Carmi Thompson

Carmi Thompson (she/her or they/them), M.S., is a Ph.D student in the School of Earth Sciences.

Carmi's research focuses on exploring paleontological research questions through museum collections management theory, quantitative paleoecology approaches, and informal learning spaces. Carmi's interest in these areas was developed over the course of their previous work experience, where she worked on curriculum development, data analysis, and managing natural history collections across national and international organizations. 

As an instructor, Carmi is committed to sharing the joy and appreciation of earth systems science inside and outside traditional classroom spaces. 

Outside of the academy, Carmi enjoys arts and crafts, exploring nature, and reading
