Professor Brian Raison fully embraces the Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning’s dedication to elevating, supporting and promoting instructional excellence and enhancing the learning outcomes and experiences of Ohio State University students.

He is dedicated to the improvement of teaching, particularly the engagement of audiences, in his work. This includes both non-formal Extension education (statewide) and resident instruction (on campus and online).

Much of his teaching is not end-user content. Instead, he often teaches, coaches or consults with educators, faculty members, nonprofit leaders, local government directors, and other managers and administrators to equip them with engagement process skills (rooted in andragogy). His goal is to build capacity in these leaders and educators so they can better reach, teach and lead an exponential number of end-users, clients and students.

Perhaps most importantly, he strives to weave concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) into all aspects of his work.
