Dr. Amy Mackos is a two-time graduate from Ohio State and Associate Clinical Professor in the College of Nursing. She also serves as the College of Nursing’s Director of Biomedical Research. She loves teaching students at all educational levels both inside the lab and in the classroom. Her teaching expertise includes immunology, microbiology, pathophysiology, and responsible conduct of research. She also serves as an advisor to students enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Education program.

 

Dr. Mackos takes every opportunity to enhance her students’ learning experience. To do this she has completed numerous teaching endorsements through the Drake Institute including the Course Design Institute, participated in the Drake Institute book club (How Learning Works), and completed the Drake Institute Instructional Redesign in the Fall 2020. In every class, her goal is to “tell a story” in an inclusive manner. In 2022 she was awarded the College of Nursing’s Graduate Educator of the Year.
