Assessment/Evaluation
Rubric, as described in course syllabus:
All students begin the course with 100 points. Course points can be subtracted in the following ways:
- Attendance: Any absence beyond the Dance Department’s allowed number results in a loss of five points for each next absence. Three late arrivals constitute an absence, with a loss of 5 points. (Late arrival is defined as arriving after 5:30 p.m.) Absence from a mid-term class or the final class is a loss of 10 points.
- Participation: Each student is coached in a Master Class the second half of the semester. All students take part in this collaborative experience, with featured students selecting a performance using their art form, or an everyday activity. Failure to sign up for and attend an individual Master Class sessions results in the loss of 15 course points.
- Assignments: Students may miss one weekly written response without loss of points. Any later assignments missed are a subtraction of five points each.
