Teaching Strategies: The Minute Paper

March 7, 2022 | 12:00pm to 1:00pm
CarmenZoom

The Minute Paper is a very commonly used classroom assessment technique that takes little time and can be used at the end of any class or module. It provides feedback on whether an instructor's goal or focus of instructional time or engagement matches their students' understanding or learning.

In this session, Institute consultants will share a Minute Paper strategy "recipe" with participants who will be able to immediately infuse that evidence-based strategy in their courses and identify approaches to assessing its impact.

Participants are only asked to arrive motivated to improve practice, and they’ll leave with a plan for effective, evidence-based change using the Minute Paper!

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Describe the evidence-based strategy of the minute paper.
  • Plan implementation of the minute paper in their own context.
  • Anticipate and overcome barriers to effective use of the minute paper strategy.
  • Identify appropriate assessments to measure the effectiveness of the minute paper strategy.
