Do you have an idea for how to incorporate an authentic research experience into the classroom? If so, we hope you join the Center for Life Sciences Education and The Drake Institute for the fully virtual Course-based Undergraduate Research (CURE) Institute on June 21st and 22nd. At the CURE Institute, you will learn evidence-based practices for designing and implementing CUREs and apply those lessons to developing your own CURE. The institute is facilitated by Dr. Erin Dolen from University of Georgia, who is a nationally recognized expert on CUREs and the principal investigator of CUREnet2, a national network of people and programs creating, teaching, and assessing CUREs. Applications must be received by May 15th for full consideration.

The overarching goal of the CURE Institutes is to build faculty capacity to design and implement CUREs in the natural and social sciences. All Institute sessions are designed based on research on learning in general and undergraduate research experiences in particular, will make use of active learning and equitable teaching strategies, interspersed with time for participants to apply what they are learning to design their CUREs and get feedback on their design.

The institutes are facilitated by Dr. Erin Dolan (University of Georgia), who is principal investigator of CUREnet2, the next phase of development of a national network of people and programs creating, teaching, and assessing CUREs.
