Just-in-Time Course Design for instructors

Ohio State faculty preparing for an autumn semester of distance learning, hybrid or in-person instruction may be interested in Just-in-Time Course Design. This three-hour workshop provides a brief overview of best practices delivered in the Drake Institute's popular Course Design Institute. Participants will have access to Drake Institute consultants who can assist them in planning for effective and engaging learning activities.

Participants will be provided with a basic course design structure, a variety of resources on a range of delivery modalities and opportunities to seek expert assistance. Following this session, participants will:

  • identify principles of backwards design
  • use backwards design to align instructional decisions for the upcoming semester
  • identifiy additional resources available to instructors for designing courses.

These workshops, facilitated by the Drake Institute Instructional Consultants Teresa Johnson, Laurie Maynell, Jessica Riviere and Shadia Siliman, will take place on July 23 from 1-4 p.m. and again on July 29 from 1-4 p.m.
