Considering development of a new or revised course for the new GE? The Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning Instructional Redesign (IR) program offers an incentivized opportunity for instructors engaging in course design and redesign projects. In this information session, participants will learn about connections that exist between GE design/redesign and IR and will explore evidence-based strategies for course and instructional design that both support the development of quality GE proposals and satisfy requirements of IR. The Institute for Teaching and Learning knows of the significant time and effort required to propose a new or revised course for GE and seeks to recognize and support such efforts through IR.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Plan a new GE proposal to satisfy requirements for the Drake Institute incentivized Instructional Redesign program.
  • Connect a previously completed or ongoing GE proposal to the Institute incentivized Instructional Redesign program.
  • Plan assessments to measure the impact and effectiveness of instruction within new GE courses.
