GTA Toolkit Fair, Efficient, and Inclusive Grading

This event is for Graduate Students only.

In this workshop, participants will learn about the principles of inclusive grading. They will explore rubrics as a tool to make course assignments more transparent, effective, and inclusive. We will compare strengths and weaknesses of several types of rubrics, and participants will practice writing a rubric for an assignment.

After this workshop participants will be able to: 

  • Discuss strategies for grading in a more effective, fair, and inclusive way.
  • Implement rubrics as a transparent and efficient way to provide feedback that can help improve student learning.
  • Choose the appropriate type of rubric for different circumstances.
  • Practice writing a rubric.
