Drake Institute Writing Retreats

February 25, 2022 | 12:00pm to 1:30pm
CarmenZoom

Instructors or staff working on projects related to teaching and learning are invited to join Drake Institute consultants and colleagues from across Ohio State for monthly writing retreats. This dedicated writing time opens from 12 pm to 1 pm on the last Friday of each month during the spring semester in CarmenZoom.

Dedicated writing time supports individuals seeking to develop or complete any number of projects, including grant applications or proposals for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning studies, assessment reports, Instructional Redesign portfolios, or the final edits on manuscripts being prepared for submission.

This 90-minute hosted writing block allows scholars to gather in person (or digitally), sit (or stand), think and write. Consultants are available to brainstorm ideas, provide feedback on methodologies or discuss approaches to data analysis. Sometimes, all that is needed is a place and space for focused work to jump start stalled progress or bring a proposal or publication to completion.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Advance writing efforts on projects involving teaching and learning.
  • Use guidance and insights from Drake Institute staff to more efficiently and effectively make progress in writing efforts involving teaching and learning.
