Drake Institute Assessment For Learning Workshop Series: Effective Feedback

 In this session, Joni Tornwall, PhD, RN (Associate Clinical Professor ) and Sarah Rusnak, MS, RDN, LD (Clinical Instructor) will present evidence-based practices in instructor-to-student and peer-to-peer feedback. Participants will explore frameworks for creating a classroom culture of learning through feedback and consider the differences between assessment for learning and assessment of learning.

Facilitators will describe best practices for teaching principles of peer-to-peer feedback to students.

After this workshop participants will be able to: 

  • Consider a range of evidence-based opportunities to infuse formative assessment strategies into instruction.
  • Implement practical strategies to strengthen components of assessment and feedback that lead to deeper learning.
